From My Back Porch

Terry and I have lived in Smith County for almost 15
years and we love it. It's a small, quiet, laid back place
and that suits us just fine. This is the view from our back
porch. I love the hills surrounding our house.

Our backporch is one of our favorite places to be.

"Behind every cloud is another cloud." ~ Judy Garland

“How sweet to be a Cloud Floating in the Blue!”
~ A. A. Hodge

These clouds were so pretty! It looked like someone had
taken a wide toothed comb and combed through them.

Misfortune is never mournful to the soul that accepts it;
for such do always see that every cloud is an angel's face.

More Photo Fun

My late sister-in-law, Cindy, gave me this little rabbit plaque
many years ago for my birthday. It's one of my favorite things.
Cindy fought a brave battle against breast cancer and passed
away in 1998. Whenever I see this plaque I always think of her.

I was messing around with the focal black and white setting
on Picasa and came up with this.

I love my little glass sun garden stake.
I had some more fun with the focal black
and white setting.

Fun With Photos

I've always enjoyed photo manipulation. I was messing around
with Picasa and came up with these. Hope you enjoy!

Without Further Ado, Here's Libby Cat!

Perched on her favorite spot on the railing.

"Free as a bird, it's the next best thing to be. Free as a bird." ~ John Lennon

I spotted this beautiful Cardinal in one of our Bradford
Pear trees.

I took this picture through our bathroom window.
I was hoping he would fly down to one of the lower
branches of the tree so I could get a better shot.

This picture is kind of blurry, but I thought I would include
it anyway. I think it's kind of cool :)

Up Close and Personal with the Jessie Cat

The sun finally came out today and temps warmed into the
low 50's. The warmer weather was very welcome after all
the cold and snow we've had. I took these shots of the Jessie
cat as she was peering in the back door this morning :)

Meow!

Go get yourself some cheap sunglasses...oh yeah!

Nature of Art Part Deux

Here are more pictures taken with the close up setting on
my camera.

Here comes the sun! The sunshine was a very welcome sight
today after the cold weather and snow of late. This little sun
sun catcher always brings a smile to my face :)

This is one of my favorite suncatchers!

The Art of Nature

I've really been getting into close up or macro photography.
I love to experiment with that setting on my camera. This is
dried Baby's Breath.

I love collecting seashells from places that we've
been over the years.

Makes me want to get back to the beach! I collected these
shells at the beach in Destin, Florida. They're very special
to me.

I love drying flowers and making arrangements
out of them. It's amazing that they've kept their
color.

"Getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents in the lottery." ~ Bill Watterson

The snow was flying again yesterday. It's been a long time
since we've seen so many snow days! Temperatures haven't
gotten out of the 20's for what seems like an eternity this
winter.

I love snow, but can't imagine 2 feet of the white stuff like
they've had in Washington and other northern states. It
would be nice to get 6 or 7", but we'll take what we can get.

My camera has gotten quite a workout this winter.

This snow wasn't as impressive as the snowfall we got
a couple of weeks ago, but it was still pretty!

Freezing Fog

On February 1st we woke to freezing fog. It was so pretty
on my Willow tree.

Blackbirds in the treetops of our hedgerow.

Ice crystals on our Nandeenas.
