More Tennessee Fall Colors

I took this shot of trees on the hill behind us from the
rearview mirror while we were stopped on the interstate.

Tennessee Fall Colors

I took these photos on our way to Knoxville. The fall
colors along Interstate 40 were absolutely gorgeous.

My camera battery was dead by the time we got home.

Kudzu

On the way to Knoxville, TN yesterday we got stuck in
traffic from an accident. While we were sitting at a stand
still I snapped some pictures of Kudzu.

Kudzu growing up a telephone pole and lines. Looks like
some kind of living sculpture.

Kudzu monster :)

APOD: 2009 October 22 - Moon and Planets in the Morning

I posted the link to this picture on Facebook. I loved it so
much that I wanted to include the link on my blog as well.
Beautiful!!

Death of a Tree

A few days ago I heard the sound of machinery coming
from the direction of our back yard so I went out to investigate.
A man in a bucket truck was starting the process of trimming
one of the old trees in the cemetary. It had a lot of dead limbs
in it, so I figured they were going to trim those off. But, I was
wrong.

A few minutes later this is what it looked like. When I
went back out to look the tree was completely gone.
We've seen that tree from our deck for 14 years. I guess
it was in worse shape than I thought. I'm going to miss it!
They also cut down a beautiful old oak tree that had died.
I'm hoping they will plant more trees to take the place of
the ones that were cut.

Angel Button

This is Angel Button Mabry. She's our sister, Cynthia's, Maltese.
She's been staying with us while her mom is on a trip. Button is
almost 8 years old and is the sweetest little snugglebug you'll ever
want to meet! Two years ago she was diagnosed with an immune
disease called autoimmune hemolytic anemia. She takes meds to
treat her illness, and is doing very well. She's one tough little furball!

She loves sleeping on Terry's lap when he's laying on the
couch.

While I drained and cleaned our hot tub the other day,
Angel Button stretched out on the deck and soaked up
some sun.

She also loves to hang out with me in the office when I'm
on the computer. Here she is curled up on the carpet next
to my desk. She's a sweetie!

I Heart Pumpkins!

With Halloween fast approaching, I thought I would post
a few pictures of my decorations. I love this little ceramic
tealight candle pumpkin!

Terry surprised me with this cute orange striped pumpkin.

This picture turned out a little blurry, but I think it adds
to the spookiness of the pumpkins.

Dewdrops

I'm not a big fan of Nandinas, but thought these drops of
dew looked pretty cool on the leaves.

Fall is In The Air

The wild cherry tree in the front yard is showing some hint
of red.

Fall is definitely in the air.

The leaves should be pretty this year with the
abundant rain we've had.

Creepy Crawly

I have no idea what this thing is. It was crawling around
on our back porch the other day. Anybody have a clue?

What a weird looking little critter!

Wasp

I found this interesting looking wasp hanging out on our
backdoor. He is kind of pretty. I'm glad he didn't get mad
at me for taking his picture!
