The trees are God's great alphabet:
With them He writes in shining green
Across the world His thoughts serene.

Dogwood

IMG_7330-1
The pink dogwood tree on the edge of our property was especially pretty this year. I took these pictures last week and am just now getting around to posting them.

Joyce Kilmer Part 2

This picture doesn't do this tree justice! Luckily Terry used to wide angle lens to get the shot.
We had to watch for fallen limbs on the trails.
Perfect round hold in this rock.
I'm pretty sure this is the tree where Tony's ashes will be scattered.

This fern covered boulder was at the end of the trail.

Terry snapped this beautiful shot today in the Rob Draper Memorial cemetery in Jackson county. We took a road trip down to Gainesboro, TN to place a flag on my mom and dad's grave. On the way home we dropped by to see our Aunt Joy who is 98 years young. She got on Facebook for the very first time. Had an enjoyable visit with her. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Stars

How countlessly they congregate
    O'er our tumultuous snow,
Which flows in shapes as tall as trees
    When wintry winds do blow!--

As if with keeness for our fate,
    Our faltering few steps on
To white rest, and a place of rest
    Invisible at dawn,--

And yet with neither love nor hate,
    Those stars like some snow-white
Minerva's snow-white marble eyes
    Without the gift of sight.

We had our Bradford Pear trees on the side of the house topped yesterday. They were planted not long after we moved into our house. Hopefully they will last us another 5 years.
The Maple trees in our front yard are really pretty this year.

Reflections of trees in the water.
The same photo turned upside down. How cool is that? Looks like a painting.
