Christmas Lights 2013

IMG_0713 Terry did a great job of putting up our outdoor Christmas lights! This is a view from our back porch looking into our living room.

Chilling

IMG_0716We had to move Bullet's cat tree when we put up our Christmas tree over the weekend. I think he likes this new spot. He can survey the back yard from this vantage point, plus he gets to check out the Christmas lights. My second born niece, Holly, is celebrating her 35th birthday today! Happy Birthday, Holly! We love you!

Heart Shaped Bokeh

IMG_6700 I love fooling around with creative photography. I follow a page called “Photography Tips” on Facebook and got the idea for this photo. It’s a book with two pages folded over to create the image of a heart. The camera settings give it a “bokeh” effect. Pretty neat!

Christmas is Coming

IMG_6688With Christmas less than three weeks away, we decided we had better get off our duffs and start putting out some Christmas decorations. I’ve decided I’m going to put out my most favorite Christmas decorations this year. I have a big collection of Santas and nutcrackers.

This is one of my favorite Santas. With more frozen precip in the forecast for tonight, he is dressed appropriately.

Knox Turns 2!

My great nephew, Knox, turned 2 years old on Dec. 2nd. He celebrated his birthday with family, punch and cupcakes.
Enjoying some yummy Thomas Train cupcakes.
Tearing into the present me and his Uncle T got for him. Happy Birthday, Knox! Love you sweet boy!

The Friday after Thanksgiving me and Terry took a road trip up to Byrdstown, TN to spend some time with one of our closest and dearest friends. Randy was diagnosed with cancer this past summer. He is doing great, was in good spirits and has a positive attitude. Randy has a great sense of humor and kept us laughing the entire time we were there. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. So glad we got to spend time with him and enjoy the beauty of Pickett County.

We had our first snowfall of the season yesterday. It was short lived and there wasn't a lot of it, but it was pretty anyway.

Crispy, crunchy willow tree. It was so pretty this year! Can we just skip winter and go straight to spring?
Our Bradford Pear trees are really staring to get pretty now. Beautiful shades of red and yellow. They are always the last trees to shed their leaves in the fall and the first to grow leaves in the spring. I took this picture from our bathroom window because I didn't feel like getting out in the cold. It's only going to get into the upper 30's today. Ugh!!!

I'm loving these Fall sunsets! This is yesterday's sunset. Not as intense, but still pretty.

Bullet's "You wanna piece of me?" look.
Happy 37th birthday to my first born niece, Kelly! Hope your day is as special as you are! Much love from me and Terry.
