The Last Day of 2010

I can't believe this is my last blog post of 2010. This year sure
has flown by. I'll leave you with this shot from the 2010 Music
City Bowl that me and the hubby attended last night in Nashville.
Terry took this shot right before the game started. We played the
North Carolina Tarheels. Hopes were high that the Vols would win
their first game under Coach Derek Dooley, but it wasn't to be. We
enjoyed the game anyway. Here's hoping everyone has a very
Happy, safe and healthy 2011!

Snow Covered Leylands

Snow covered Leyland Cypress in our backyard
on Christmas morning. If you look close, you can
see a tiny spot of red on the left. I believe that's
a cardinal perched on one of the limbs :0)

White Christmas

I thought I would post some pictures I took on
Christmas morning. We woke up to our first white
Christmas in Middle Tennessee in 17 years. It wasn't
much, but it sure made the day a lot more festive!

to have each and everyone of you in my life!

Me, my mom and siblings pose for a Christmas shot! My dad and

were definitely with us in spirit!

Night Snow

Going back to Jan. 29th 2010 for this shot. Can't wait to get a
remote shutter release for my camera. It will help me to take
better night time pictures :)

Berry Buffet

Male and female Cardinals were back in our Bradford Pear trees
this afternoon feasting on the berries. Actually they aren't berries,
but small fruit that softens up in late fall. Whatever they are, the
birds love them. Blue Jays, Chickadees and Tufted Titmice were
also eating them as well. I love watching them, plus it makes for a
great photo opportunity :)

Female Cardinal enjoying the bounty.

Patchwork Snow

Snow still covers the hills around our house. Everywhere else
it's almost melted. We may be in store for more winter precip.
Middle Tennessee is currently under a winter weather advisory.
It started to sleet while I was out taking pictures.

Patchy snow in the cornfield next to our house.

Snowy Barn

Going back to the winter of 1996 for this shot :)
From the sound of it we may be in for some more
winter weather tomorrow and tomorrow night.
Smith county is currently under a winter storm
watch!

Snowy Day in Smith County

We had our first measurable snow of the season yesterday and
last night. I'm guessing we got around 3" of the white stuff. Could
be more. It's way too cold to go outside and measure :) These are
some scenes from around my house. The funny thing is it's still
Fall! The official start of Winter is a week away.

O Christmas Tree

It's amazing what lights and ornaments can
do for an ordinary tree. We made a trek out
to the tree farm this afternoon and got a 9 ft.
spruce tree. Got it decorated just in time for
the Titans-Colts football game :) Can't believe
Christmas is just two weeks away!

For the Love of Music

I love music and one of my favorite bands of all time
is the Beatles. I grew up with John, Paul, George and
Ringo and their music. It's the first music I remember
hearing at the age of 4. John Lennon was my favorite
Beatle. He was murdered 30 years ago today by a person
whose name I won't repeat. RIP John! You are missed,
but your music still shines on!

"Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million
suns it calls me on and on across the universe."
~ John Lennon

"We all shine on...like the moon and the stars and the sun."
~ John Lennon

"There are places i'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends i still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life i've loved them all"
~ John Lennon

First Snowfall of the Season

We had our first snow yesterday in Smith county. Although it
wasn't much and didn't stick, it sure was pretty to watch and
photograph.

Snowflakes up close and personal :)

All in all a very cold, grey, deary late fall day!

Berry Feast

Got this shot through our bathroom window with my long
lens. The Bradford Pear trees were full of male and female
cardinals feasting on the berries on the trees. On the limb
below the cardinal, you can see a bite taken out of one the
berries :)

Spooky Moon

Moonrise from Nov. 21st. Love the colors on the surrounding
clouds!

Going back to October 17th for this picture. Enjoy!

Upon stepping foot on the moon, Buzz Aldrin remarked to
Houston, "Beautiful, beautiful. Magnificent desolation."

Cat Got Your Tongue?

Our cat, Libby looks like she doesn't have a head in this picture :)

Cleaning herself on top of our spa.

I swear, that cat has a tongue that's five feet long :)
