Tree Toppers

We had our Leyland Cyprus trees topped today. We had them topped several years ago. I couldn't believe how much they had grown back.

We're happy to get our view back, but still have some privacy from the cemetery.

Sadly we had to have our Yoshino Cherry tree cut down because it was dying. I hated to see it go, but we plan on planting two more in our back yard. We planted this tree 13 years ago in memory of my dad. It was so beautiful when it was in full bloom. It looked like a pink cloud when lit up at night. I'm glad I have several pictures of it in it's glory days.

Foggy Morning

Snow Covered Leylands

Snow covered Leyland Cypress in our backyard
on Christmas morning. If you look close, you can
see a tiny spot of red on the left. I believe that's
a cardinal perched on one of the limbs :0)

Trees Up Close and Personal

The stump of a Leyland Cypress tree. If you look closely
you can count the rings.


Foliage of the Leyland Cypress. We planted
62 of these trees in our backyard. In the past
few years we've had to cut down 3 of them.
We call them our "living fence." We've had
to top them over the years because they've
grown so tall.


I'm not sure what kind of tree this is, but
the peeling bark is kind of interesting.
