The Cardinal Bird
The Cardinal Bird
A day and then a week passed by:
The redbird hanging from the sill
Sang not; and all were wondering why
It was so still—
When one bright morning, loud and clear,
Its whistle smote my drowsy ear,
Ten times repeated, till the sound
Filled every echoing niche around;
And all things earliest loved by me,—
The bird, the brook, the flower, the tree,—
Came back again, as thus I heard
The cardinal bird.

"I Purr, Therefore I Am." ~ Anonymous
Our sweet Jessie cat turns 14 years young this year! Except
for a little bit of arthritis in her back legs she's still pretty
spry :0) We give her Cosequin in her food every other day to
help with the arthritis. She doesn't stray too far from the house
these days, but prefers to lounge on top of the barbecue grill
or the spa top.
Sweet face!
Queen of the castle :0)
Gentle eyes
that see so much,
paws that have
the quiet touch.
Purrs to signal
"all is well"
and show more love
than words can tell.
Graceful movements
touched with pride,
a calming presence
by our side.
A friendship
that will last and grow -
small wonder
why we love them so.

Soaking Up the Sun!
I took these pictures after our last snow event. Our cats, Libby
and Jessica, love to sleep on top of our spa cover, even when it
is snow covered :0) They don't seem to mind as long as they can
find a clear spot to lounge on. Oh to be a cat!

Feb. 12th Sunset
This was one of the most gorgeous sunsets I've seen in awhile!
It seems that winter sunsets are always more intense.
Sunset colors are typically more brilliant than sunrise colors,
because the evening air contains more particles than morning air.

Mourning Dove
This pretty Dove was perched high atop our cherry tree the other
morning. They love eating seeds on the ground that have fallen
out of the bird feeders.

glittering eyes that showed their right To general Nature's deep
delight." ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Dove & Goldfinch
I've really enjoyed our bird feeders! It's fun
watching different kinds of birds interact with
one another. For the most part they all seem
to get along :0)
"Those little nimble musicians of the air,
that warble forth their curious ditties,
with which nature hath furnished them
to the shame of art."

Feb. 9th Sunrise
My hubby, Terry, took these fabulous sunrise shots this morning.

"The Dove, on silver pinions, winged her peaceful way." ~ James Montgomery
This pretty, little Dove was under one of our bird
feeders eating seeds that had fallen on the ground.
"Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I
fly away, and be at rest."
~Psalms 55:6.

Sunrise this morning. Beautiful! Thanks for taking these pics,

Up a Tree
I took this picture on the Buffalo Valley walking
trail at Center Hill Lake. The white bark of this
Sycamore tree was so pretty against the blue sky!
