Wren Nest

It's fun watching these little birds cram those big sticks inside
that little birdhouse :0)

Spread Your Wings and Fly

Captured this little wren flying around a suet cake on our bird
feeder.

“Be like the bird that, pausing in her flight awhile on boughs too
slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing
that she hath wings.” ~ Victor Hugo

Wren Nest

I cleaned out our little bird box the other day and this
is what I found inside. Two families of wrens were raised
in the box this year :) It's always fun to see what a nest
consisted of.

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and
the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk
or an evening saunter . . . to be thrilled by the stars at night;
to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these
are some of the rewards of the simple life.
~John Burroughs (1837 - 1921)

Summer Day

It's hard to believe that August is upon us!

Two Goldfinches frolicing in the air above our garden. Our
sunflowers make for a tasty treat.

Mama Wren looking for bugs near our back porch.

She is well camouflaged in our decorative rock :) That's
a good thing because we have two outdoor cats.

Mama Wren Hard at Work

Mama Wren feeding her second brood of babies a nice, big
grasshopper. I took this picture the other day. As of today
the baby Wrens have left the bird box. This is the last brood
of the summer. I'll miss them :(

Milk Crate Nest

Me and Terry were cleaning out our garage a couple of weeks ago.
We came across this bird nest that was built in a milk crate that we
had on a shelf. I'm figuring this is a wren nest.

What a cool little nest :)
