We found these pretty wildflowers growing all over the side of the road on our recent road trip. Anyone out there know what these are?

Gobble Gobble

My nephew-in-law, Jerry, is a hunter and I thought of him when I saw these two beauties on Saturday afternoon.

Trees

Terry took this picture.
I took this shot. This was such a cool looking tree!
Lone cedar tree in the middle of a big field with shadow.

Below the Center Hill Dam where it runs into the Caney Fork River. If you look closely at the rocks near the water's edge you can make out some kind of water fowl. Not sure what that was.

We found this pretty creek on our road trip.
It was so clear you could see the bottom.

A young couple enjoying a day of fishing on the Caney Fork River. I would hate to fall into the water. The Caney Fork is cold!

A Creek Somewhere in Dekalb County

Terry took this shot with the wide angle lens. We're standing on a bridge somewhere in rural Dekalb county. That's me crouched down getting a shot of the beautiful countryside :0)

Center Hill Marina

We took a road trip this past Saturday on the back roads around Center Hill Lake. Terry took this shot of the Center Hill Marina at Cove Hollow. We were driving at the time. We stopped on the side of the road and Terry took the picture from the truck window with my wide angle lens. I love the colors in this shot!

The Cumberland Zinc Mine

These pictures were taken on Sept. 9, 2012 on top of the underground zinc mine here in Gordonsville. There are several zinc mines in this area.

This picture was taken on June 3rd in a cemetery
somewhere between the Granville and Flynn's Lick
communities in Middle Tennessee. Someone colored
a chalk image on the front of an old headstone in the
cemetery. It was kind of creepy.

May 12 Road Trip

Saturday, May 12, we took a road trip down to Jackson
county TN. Our first stop was Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery
where my parents are buried. My mom passed away three
weeks ago, so this was our first visit to the cemetery since her
funeral. We cleaned up the headstone and placed a flag for my
dad who was a WWII vet.

After we left the cemetery we headed out to the back roads of rural
Jackson county. My mom used to say that Jackson county was
God's country. She was right. It's beautiful! We would love to own
land there!

One of creeks we stopped by to take some pictures.

Everything is so green and pretty. I love spring! More pictures to
come :0)

Me, Terry and our longtime friend, Danny Kilpatrick, took a short
road trip yesterday afternoon. We drove the back roads of Smith
county and ended up at the Center Hill dam. This pretty Mallard
duck was sitting on one of the rocks sticking up out of the water.
Soon after I snapped his picture, he was on his way. It was a fun
weekend filled with lots of laughs, which I really need these days!

I snapped this action shot of a pretty German Shephard as he
ran alongside the Jeep on our road trip :0)

Me and Terry took a road trip the day after Thanksgiving. We
found some really beautiful backroads in the Buffalo Valley area.
This is one of the many barns we found on our journey.
