We had our first snowfall of the season yesterday. It was short lived and there wasn't a lot of it, but it was pretty anyway.

Crispy, crunchy willow tree. It was so pretty this year! Can we just skip winter and go straight to spring?
Our Bradford Pear trees are really staring to get pretty now. Beautiful shades of red and yellow. They are always the last trees to shed their leaves in the fall and the first to grow leaves in the spring. I took this picture from our bathroom window because I didn't feel like getting out in the cold. It's only going to get into the upper 30's today. Ugh!!!

I'm loving these Fall sunsets! This is yesterday's sunset. Not as intense, but still pretty.

Happy Halloween!

A blast from the past. Me and T from Halloween 1983. I was Pat Benatar and T was a flasher of course :0)
I downloaded a fun little app called The Walking Dead Dead Yourself app. This is what me and T look like as zombies. Pretty scary stuff!
Happy Halloween everyone!

With temperatures warming up to 80 today, the ladybugs are out in force. My utility room is full of them and they're all over the back porch. Seems like this happens every year in October when it warms up. I guess this is what they call "Indian Summer."

I would like to with my baby sister, Jane, a very happy 52nd birthday today! She was almost a Halloween baby. Love you, sis!

All Dressed Up and Nowhere To Go

My cat Bullet would never let me dress him up like this. Through the power of PicMonkey, I can dress him up all I want and not get bitten or clawed. I hope these pictures put a smile on your face on this cold Thursday.

My Fall Front Porch

Finally getting my Fall on. It looks like there will be frost on the pumpkin again tonight. We had our first frost of the year this morning.
Guardian of the mums and pumpkins :0)

Another Lovely October Sunrise

Our camera was sitting on top of the bar when I got up this morning. That means that Terry took some sunrise pictures. He captured these two lovely shots around 7 am. Happy Tuesday everyone!

They're Baaaaack!

Two or three years ago I posted a picture of these mushrooms on this blog. They grow in our side yard and I haven't seen them since until now. They look like something out of a fairy tale. Follow this link to an article about mushrooms common to Tennessee.

Fall Mums

Terry brought these beautiful mums home the other day. They are called Point Pelee mums and are strictly indoor mums. I've never heard of them before. I think he found them at Lowes. These mums made their debut in 2006, they aren't perennial and they are the first bicolor floral mum ever. They almost look like daisies.

Fall is Finally Here!

The cold front finally got through here last night with a lot of heavy rain. This morning we woke up to a temp of around 50 and lots of fog. The fog quickly burned off when the sun broke through the clouds and it's been an absolutely gorgeous fall day. The leaves on our Tulip Poplar are already turning and were beautiful against the blue sky. I hope it stays this way for awhile!

New Old Spa

We recently had to get rid of our almost 20 year old spa. Terry's parents gave it to us 6 years ago and it served us well. It finally sprung a leak that would've cost more to fix than the spa was worth. We bought this 6 year old Four Winds spa from one of Terry's co-workers three weeks ago. This thing takes up half of our deck, but we don't mind. It comes in handy when your muscles are aching. Once you climb out you feel, quoting Kramer on Seinfeld, "looser than cream corn."
It seats up to 6 people.
Our favorite part is the waterfall.
