Yesterday morning our tube feeder was filled with all these
pretty, little birds with streaks of yellow on their wings. I had
never seen them before so I looked them up in one of my bird
books. It turns out that they are
Pine Siskins. They're a part
of the finch family and often feed with flocks of goldfinches.
They're feisty little things. It was funny watching them
fighting for a spot on the feeder.

Lone goldfinch waiting for his turn on the feeder. I love the little
Siskin on the left. He looks like he's floating in mid-air :0)
