Photo Stitching

I took two pictures of this scene when we were out on our last road trip. I stitched the two shots together with Windows Live Photo gallery to make this pretty panorama. I'm happy with the way it turned out :0) Click on the photo to see the actual size.

I've always had an interest in old headstones. While me and Terry were out on our road trip this past weekend, we stopped in a cemetery that contained a lot of old headstones. Some were so old you couldn't even read the inscriptions.
This is the oldest one we found from 1799.
I found this one to be quite interesting. There's a hand with a finger pointing up toward what looks like a Bible.

Terry took this shot on Aug. 11, 2012 from the top of the bridge in Cumberland Mt. State Park. I love the reflection of the clouds and sky in the water!

Reflections of trees in the water.
The same photo turned upside down. How cool is that? Looks like a painting.

These pictures were taken below the Standing Stone Bridge from the suspension bridge.
Terry took this shot and the following shots.

The one lane bridge over the Standing Stone Lake. I always loved going over this bridge as a kid, and I still do. We spent a lot of time in this park when I was growing up. We would rent one of the cabins for a week and spend most of our time at the swimming pool. So many cherished memories in this park!

View from the boat dock. The leaves were so pretty!
Wildflowers near the boat dock.
I took this shot below the dam. They were having the 14th annual Standing Stone car show while we were there. Two Labrador pups are in the foreground. I'm not sure who they belonged to. They followed me around as I took pictures :0)

Deer in a field somewhere in Smith County Tennessee. Sept. 9, 2012

"I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it's such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her. "

Waiting for the Sun

I took this shot yesterday from our balcony. It was a nice day to fly a kite at the beach!

Seagull flying over the dunes. I took this shot yesterday.

Today was pretty much a washout. We spent the day watching a movie, eating lunch at Floyd's Seafood in Ft. Walton and took a walk on the beach. Finally a glimpse of pink from the sunset this evening. Still hoping for better weather on Tuesday!!!

This is what we woke up to Sunday morning. It rained off and on all day, but that didn't stop us from having fun! We got in the pool and took some long walks on the beach. Last night we ordered a pizza from Papa John's. It's overcast and raining today. Just got back from a short walk on the beach. Hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow. The wireless internet leaves a lot to be desired so my blog updates may be sporadic.

Ft. Walton Beach Florida

Me and Terry are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida this week. We're staying in a condo facing the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. This is the view from our balcony. It was overcast when we got here and we had a bit of rain. There's a 70% chance of rain tomorrow, then lower chances for the rest of the week.

There's also a nice pool here at the condo. I'm looking forward to taking a dip sometime this week. Right now I'm pretty tired. Looking forward to a great week at the beach! More pictures to come. Night everyone!!!

Pickett State Park

Terry walking over a natural bridge in Pickett State Park. We hiked one mile on a trail to get to that point. We used to hike quite a bit and it was fun to be able to do that again. Pickett State Park is located in Jamestown, Tennessee.
Suspension bridge in Pickett State Park

Rest area at the top of the bluff. You have to walk across the suspension bridge, then up a small trail to get to this point.

Another view of the natural bridge. Pickett State Park is truly a ruggedly beautiful place!

Jesus Saves

I took this picture out the truck window. We were heading toward Pickett State Park and saw this tent being set up for a tent meeting. If you're from the South, you know what a tent meeting is. I have fond memories of attending tent meetings as a child.

I took this picture at Wright's Chapel Baptist Church between Jamestown and Crossville. I thought the white church steeple looked beautiful against the gorgeous blue sky!

Cumberland Mt. State Park

Me and T set out this past Saturday on a road trip. We decided to head to a place that both of us had been many times on school trips. Cumberland Mt. State Park is in Crossville, TN. This is a picture of the bridge at the entrance of the park. I've always loved this bridge and the reflection in the water is pretty awesome!
Terry took this shot with the wide angle lens.
