Bullet's Excellent Adventure

With the lower humidity and nice breeze, I decided to take Bullet out for a stroll around the back yard this afternoon. Here he is chilling under our Tulip Poplar sporting his new harness and leash. Who says you can't walk a cat? :0) Actually he is pretty good at it. He wasn't at first. Whenever I would put the harness on him, he would flop down on the ground. Now when he sees me getting it out, he comes running.
Now that's a real scratching post.
Listening to the hot bugs in the trees.
I couldn't resist making this little Willow crown for him. He seemed to enjoy wearing it.

The Spider and the Fly
Mary Howitt

Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there."
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."

If You Don't Like Spiders, Look Away!

I wish the web showed up in this picture. It was very pretty! I took this picture from beneath his/her web. Our golden thread cypress bushes are full of them.

Our cat, Bullet, taking time out to pose for a picture. He's such a big cat for almost two years old. I guess he's big boned :0)

I'm pretty excited about the first cherry tomatoes from our garden! I can't wait for the big ones to start coming in. I can taste that tomato sandwich now :0)

July 10th Sunset

Yesterday afternoon was a stormy one in Middle Tennessee. After all the rain passed we were blessed with this pretty sunset. It was almost 8 pm when I took these. They are kind of dark, but I love the dark silhouettes of the trees and surroundings against the red sky.

We found these pretty wildflowers growing all over the side of the road on our recent road trip. Anyone out there know what these are?

I found this really ginormous beetle bug on the back porch this morning. He was on his back struggling to get upright. I flipped him over and off he went. He's kind of pretty though. Guess I did my good deed for the day :0)

My nephew-in-law, Jerry, is a hunter and I thought of him when I saw these two beauties on Saturday afternoon.

Independence Day 2013

The family got together at my sister, Kay and her hubby Neil's house on this soggy Independence Day. The rain didn't stop us from having fun, chowing down on some awesome barbecue and fixin's and of course fireworks. This is my niece, Julia, smiling pretty for the camera.
Niece Sarah and sister Kay.

Doe A Deer

Our cat, Bullet, alerted me to this doe that was making it's way through our back yard early this morning. By the time I could get my camera, she had moved over to our neighbor's yard. I hope she doesn't find our garden.

July 1st Rainbow

Yesterday's storms brought this beautiful double rainbow yesterday afternoon. I had to use my wide angle lens to get the entire thing in the picture.
