Autumn Sunrise

My hubby Terry has done it again! He took these pretty sunrise
pictures this morning as he was getting ready for work.

Kudos Big T :)

Fall Pears

Pears from our neighbor's tree.

perfect to eat." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Random Night Shots

Libby cat followed me around the yard while I took pictures
last night. I took this picture of her with the while balance
setting on tungsten.

The moon looked spooky with the black clouds around it.

I took this shot with the night portrait setting. I could've used a
tripod for a steadier shot, but chose to hold the camera. I think
it turned out pretty well.

Beautiful first day of fall full moon!

I found this pretty red mushroom while strolling in the sideyard
this afternoon.

Beautiful Dale Hollow Lake

Last Sunday afternoon we had the pleasure of going to our favorite
lake in the state of Tennessee, Dale Hollow! The water is crystal
clear and even though it's September the water was still warm
enough to get in.

Spider Web

I'm back! Have you missed me :) I found this really cool spider
web in one of our Boxwoods a few days ago. I've been in
Gatlinburg TN the past few days, but it's nice to be back home
and on my computer!

Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal

We had a yard full of Cardinals the other day. I counted
10 of them...males and females. I don't know what is
up with this Cardinal's feathers. He almost looks like he's
blotched or something.

A Sign of Things to Come

Most of the leaves on our Yoshino Cherry tree have turned or
have fallen. The Bradford Pears will be the last to lose their leaves.
Fall is almost here!

I Want to Get Away...I Want To Fly Away!

I'm not sure, but I think this may be a Turkey Buzzard. I saw him
circling around our back yard the other day. I took this with my
long lens. He was pretty high up!

I wish that I could fly
Into the sky
So very high
Just like a dragonfly

I'd fly above the trees
Over the seas in all degrees
To anywhere I please

Oh I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah ~ Lenny Kravitz

Rest Stop

I found this little skipper moth resting on a Zinnia leaf in what's
left of our garden. The butterflies and moths are few and far
between these days now that the flowers are dying out. I'm
already counting the days until next spring :)

Orange and Yellow

This is one of the most beautiful butterflies I've seen in awhile.
It's even more beautiful against the yellow Zinnia :)

My mom and dad would've been married 68 years today! They
were married in Rossville, Georgia on Sept. 6th, 1942 :)

It's Football Time in Tennessee

I know this doesn't have a lot to do with nature,
but football is huge in the state of Tennessee. The
University of Tennessee Volunteers played their
first game of the season today and won over UT
Martin. We love our football and we love our Vols!
I won't be posting anything on my blog tomorrow,
but will post again on Monday. Everyone have a
safe and fun Labor Day weekend :)

Late Summer Flowers

We have one little patch of Zinnias left in our garden. They're
thriving and I hope they can hang on until the first frost! We
shall see. You can see our okra plants in the background. I'm
starting to believe those things could survive a nuclear attack :)
