Fishin' on The Caney Fork

The backroad heading down to the Center Hill Dam. The
Caney Fork River is on the left.

We got out to take some pictures of the river and saw these
two guys fishing. One guy was holding up his catch while the
other one took his picture. It was a cold day to be fishing!

The beautiful Caney Fork River!

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." ~ Frank Lloyd Wright

Terry is off work this week, so we decided to get out, take
a Jeep ride and do some exploring.

We found a little sideroad in Gordonsville and discovered
this gorgeous creek!

The greenest water I've ever seen!

Just goes to show you that you can find beauty in your
own backyard.

Late December Morning!

It's hard to believe that 2009 is almost over! This morning
was cold, but gorgeous.

The Jesse cat was out and about this cold December morn.
At least she has a thick fur coat to wear :)

C'mon Baby Light My Fire!

Hubby Terry by the glow of the fire! His eyes look kind
of spooky...like he's possessed :)

Jesse cat chose to stay up on the back porch and
enjoy the fire from afar.

"Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree.
In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall."
~ Larry Wilde

"Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself."

Freaky Cat

I just had to share these pictures I took of our cat Libby.
We had a fire going in the firepit. I was experimenting
with camera settings and took these pictures with the
night setting. It would make a great Halloween picture.
The top of Libby's head almost looks transparant.

"Heap logs, and let the blaze laugh out!" ~ Robert Browning

There's nothing like a nice roaring fire in our firepit. I love
taking pictures of fire. I was experimenting with settings
on my camera and got this interesting effect with the
fireworks setting.

"No spectacle is nobler than a blaze." ~ Samuel Johnson

What makes a fire so mesmerizing?

Face of Stone

While on our roadtrip we spotted this interesting rock
bluff. It looks like it has eyes and a nose.

Pretty cool eh?

Trees growing out of one of the eyes.

"Dogs are miracles with paws." ~ Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy

The Button pup is staying with us while her mom is on
a business trip. Here she is in her new favorite spot, under
the Christmas tree :)

Little white ball of fur.

Cute as a Button!

"Nor rural sights alone, but rural sounds, Exhilarate the spirit, and restore The tone of languid nature." ~ William Cowper

The long and winding road. I took this picture out the
windshield of the Jeep. I didn't like the way it turned
out at first, but it's grown on me.

We saw this horse grazing in a field. I got out to take a
picture and he/she came right up to the gate. I love
horses!

Rows of hay bales. Some farm animal is going to eat good
this winter.

Tennessee Barns

I love old barns and we found a lot of them on our roadtrip!
My husband Terry took this shot.

He also took this picture.

I snapped this shot. I'll be posting more tomorrow :)
